Turns out I only have seven pie dishes. Must have sent pie home with someone but I don't remember who. I know Anita has a bowl of mine, but I can't remember who has the pie plate. Ah well.

Time for a quick break. Then to the fillings and baking.

Anyone wanna come over and peel apples and pears?

Hey- whatcha got by way of good apple pie recipes, and savory pie recipes? I've been hankering for some good pie lately, and alas travel from Pittsburgh to Seattle just for pie is a little pricey for me.

Marty, what kind of savoury pie recipes are you looking for? I have several, including a Greek version, Italian version, French Canadian version, and on and on. Let me know what your likes, dislikes, allergies are and I'll be happy to send you some proven recipes.

p.s. I have a couple of good apple pie recipes as well, but I will completely defer to Philip on that one.

no savory allergies (bananas, but those most likely won't be in such a dish, I wouldn't think). Not a big fan of zucchini or eggplant really. I believe being kosher is the only thing that is any sort of an obsticle really...

The Greek savory pie does have some eggplant in it, but truly, you cannot taste it. The entire pan disappeared at Philip's last pie party and most of them don't like eggplant.

However, I have NO CLUE about kosher laws....I can send you the recipes and let you figure out what will work and what won't if you like?

basically, as long as it doesn't contain shellfish, crustaceans, dairy + meat (beef or chicken), or pig products, the recipe should be ok.

Okay....Should we continue to hijack Philip's journal entry and I'll post the recipies here, or should I send them to an email address?

No, no, it's my fault for not putting enough effort in trying to arrange a time to come pick it up. Let's see - when are you free next week?
