Jury duty

For the first time, I'm pissed that I don't deal with my mail on a timely basis. Usually, I just dump all my mail into a pile and then when the pile falls over, I open the mail. Bills? Pay those online. Occasionally this practice gets me in a small amount of trouble with missing events and whatnot. Mostly I don't care.

But in the pile I worked through today was a jury summons. Saying I needed to show up this morning.

So no only can I go to jail now, I miss out on being on a jury.

I tried to call in. Missed their office hours so I couldn't tell them I missed the notice.

Checked the web site. No F.A.Q. on what to do if you don't realize you are supposed to show up.

I'll call tomorrow.

I missed jury duty once because of some postal snafu, recieving my summons a few days after I was supposed to appear... They were pretty cool about it, even though it took me another 3-4 days to get ahold of them.

You could also try calling the phone number on the form they sent you and they will tell you whether you need to come in tomorrow. You just have to know the group # which is on the form. I was summoned not too long ago and that is what I did. Every night you call after 5pm. Otherwise they will just give you another summons date.

I forgot that I got summoned as well and then Beowulf's lj made me rememeber. After spending days looking for it, I found it today in my back pack. I am supposed to go on Wed, but I emailed a guy about trying to resechedule or get out of it. Now that I found my paper, I should just call them.

Glad you are getting yours taken care of. I will go back to my little vision of you in jail being someone's bitch. :)
