I have always taken "been there" to mean that someone was there when you really desparately needed them, even if you didn't know it. They have let you cry on their shoulder, sleep on their couch, introduced you to potential mates, made your life better in some way.

Honestly, it is amazing to see the affection the two of you have for each other. It really transcends any friendship I have ever seen before, and most marriages.

It is really fucking cool. I am so impressed by it. :)
