On a more serious note - whatever happened with that lawsuit? I admit I thought at the time it was a little silly, but I also admit that my upbringing and regard for women influences my judgement heavily. :)
I never sued anyone. I thought about filing a complaint with the Seattle Human Rights Commission, but decided against it. Too much effort when I can just avoid the place. Also, there was one lawsuit on the subject already that was decided against the man on the basis that the woman who got the discount was his wife, and therefore the discount was community property and in effect he got the discount after all. I shit you not. That's the legal reasoning behind the Washington Supreme Court decision in the case.
I suspect the courts might reverse in this day and age, but who wants to spend the money on a big lawsuit over a few buck discount when you have to get a reversal of a precedent, poorly reasoned as it may be? Not I.
