My email address

I've said it before, and now I'll write it again. I don't like people giving out my email address without asking me. But I don't do that! you say. But then you go along and email 30 people all at once and in doing so give them my email address. Or you use my address and put it in some web form for a place like Evite or Friendster.

This is the reason why I don't like my email address being given out, because I do not know or trust your friends, even if they are decent people. Most people do a crappy job at keeping viruses and trojans off their computer. Ooooh, if I install that program, I'll get a cool cursor! Oh hey that's a cool file sharing program. It's free cause it displays ads! Next thing you know they are infected and their address book is in the hands of spammers.

See, they invented this nifty little feature called Bcc, or blind carbon copy. It existed in email programs as far back as 1987 and probably further. Instead of putting 33 people on the To or Cc line, you can put them on the Bcc line. Now, everyone who gets the email only sees your email address! On top of that, when the idiots hit Reply to All instead of Reply like intelligent people, only the sender receives the reply! It's win-win for everyone.

No worries. I just wasn't thinking.
I'd normally blame the diabetes or something... but honestly, I wasn't using my head.
