112 hours

I have to take approximately 112 hours of vacation before January 1st. Almost three weeks. Gonna try to get the 8th of November through the 23rd of November. Italy is out for the moment (my Italy traveling companion has issues with her passport). Anyplace I should consider?

Things I am considering right now: Washington DC, Tahiti (great TA deals there), Hawaii.

I don't know if I'll be able to snag a traveling companion for this trip, so any suggestions for places to go that work for one person would be appreciated.

Oh, and feel free to give expensive suggestions. Between my savings and travel agent discounts & deals, I can probably swing going anywhere.

Yellowstone.

New Zealand. It's gorgeous, and the people are so friendly that someone travelling alone will always have somebody to talk to. November is early spring there, the weather can go either way, but it's truly a lovely place, rain or shine.

I've got a whole bunch of photos from my trip there three years ago, I can take the album to work with me this weekend if you want to have a look. :)

If you all of a sudden find someone to go with... I'd vote for Brazil... I was there 5 months ago and it ROCKED. Ate like a queen, shopped like a princess and partied like a rock star. I would not have gone alone though because hardly anyone speaks English and I would have been freaked not having anyone to gab to for 3 weeks. Great place though!!!

Oh, and the exchange rate KICKS ASS! We pay about 1/3 of their prices...
I had filet mignon w/ 2-3 sids, 3-4 beers (beer is .30 cents - $1) and dessert for about $15 w/ tip! w00t!

tahiti is a must. i highly recommend club med on moorea.
jamaica is another amazing island i felt in love with.

i suspect both require passport though.

I should clarify. The person I wish to travel with to Italy cannot go because of schedule and passport issues. Since I have to take some vacation now Italy is postponed until later. Reserving it to go there with her another time.

So I need to figure out where to go myself. I think I can get a discount at Club Med, and Air Tahiti-Nui had a great travel agent rate of around $450 round trip to the islands.

well, there's always caribbean. try to pick a village without children club - that's a good sign :) i always wanted to go to turkoise, but never quite managed...

there is no club med on jamaica, but almost all hotels are all-inclusive. it is also great for sightseeing, general tourism, and of course, reggae :)

The Great Barrier Reef. Nothing...NOTHING like it. & Australia is so awesome I'd go back in a heartbeat. Best time had there: McKay.

Does Mexico require a passport????? Jamaica???? Hell, New York City doesn't! I vote for New York! Of course NOLA was nice.
