Flexcar is a service I recommend highly. I used it once back when my vision was still strong enough to drive without scaring the living crap out of me.
Couple points that they might gloss over in the orientation:
1. If you drive it late at night, I think you only get charged for the gas, and not the hourly rate. Good if you don't mind shopping for staples after midnight.
2. You get credit for filling up the tank and/or washing the car.
3. All the cars have CD players! Well, it was thrilling to me, at least.
