Broken Lizard's Super Troopers

mrsloane came over last night. His lady-friend, ladylygeia was doing some Girls Night Out thing with some other girls and so we had to entertain ourselves. We watched The Surreal Life and some other television shows. And then we watched Super Troopers, a movie put out by the comedy team, Broken Lizard. This was an outrageously bad movie. Intentionally so.

So here's the plot: In rural Vermont, the state is shutting down the local state police office. Our heroes are these state police officers. The bad guys are the local cops for the town of Spurbury. It's a classic turf war. Mostly, the state troopers pull a lot of pranks. The rest of the time they try to justify their existence to avoid shutdown by solving a murder and drug-smuggling crime. Only the local cops outwit them (mostly accidentally) at every turn.

Mostly, the film is a vehicle for a lot of very crass jokes, the majority of which are actually funny.
