While doing some examination of our code base I repeatedly come across typos such as:

  • Trasaction (for transaction)
  • Obosolete (for obsolete)
  • Itinrary (for itinerary)

Urg… The inner 7th grade English teacher in me is ready to bust out and bust chops.

In Autobot, every instance of "visible" is spelled "visable."

That is enough to drive me crazy. I deal with this sort of thing daily. I am in the process of revising the procedure manual at work because the spell check option was too much for the author. Yay for me!

How do these people get employed?

No one checks for that during an interview!

What I don't understand is repeating typos and never correcting them.

I once watched a programmer mistype a variable name. Why didn't his code stop working? Because he copied and pasted the same misspelled variable name all over the place...
