Rain in Milford Sound

In the pictures entry yesterday, I noted the amount of rain in Milford Sound the day we were there. I got the number wrong, and too high. It's still way more than Seattle gets. On the day we were in Milford Sound, the New Zealand weather service recorded 279 mm of rain, or 11 inches. Seattle's record rainfall is just over 5 inches in October 2003.

i remember that day because i walked 3 blocks to a job interview with my pants rolled up over my knees and a giant umbrella and was still pretty much soaked by the time i got there; they didn't hire me until january.
