Chewed up

Our release manager sent me an email this afternoon chewing me out for some shortcomings in my work. He CC'd my boss. Mostly he upbraided me for not bringing concerns to the proper people and bringing them late. I'm a little irritated at the moment, so I will not respond to it until I've had a change to think through what I will include. Basically the gist is: my responsibilities are pretty diverse, I did bring them up with my boss, and certain areas that I have concerns about were purposefully transferred to another group.

However, this is a political situation, so I have to refrain from going off half-cocked. My boss understands the position I am in and ultimately he is the one who will be doing my review.

That sucks. I absolutely hate disapproval much less getting chewed out.
